Sunscreen to help prevent: skin burn, premature aging, skin cancer. Dermatologist recommended. Non-comedogenic. SPF
Not Enough: Sunburn Protection Factor (SPF) is not an accurate determination of a sunscreen's capability of protecting the skin from the sun's harmful rays. SPF is only an indication of protection from one wavelength of Ultraviolet light, the UVB (290nm*-320nm). UVB is the cause of early skin redness experienced during initial sun exposure. Many physicians believe UVB to be less damaging to the skin, long term, compared to the UVA wavelength (320nm-400nm). UVA is responsible for skin tanning, and the long term pigmentation changes that are particularly harmful to the skin. Unfortunately there is no official rating system to date to measure a product's UVA protection. *nm = nanometer which is a billionth of a meter. Total Block SPF 65 has been specifically formulated for individuals who require full spectrum protection from the sun's damaging effects. For those with any medical hypersensitivity to the sun, Total Block provides total protection from the full spectrum of light. Total Block contains a complete and total photoprotective/cellular protective system. The only such topical products available, anywhere. UVA Same Everyday: UVA radiation, unlike UVB, is consistently the same all day long, all month long and all year long. UVA rays present almost the same damaging effects to the skin in December at 9 am, as they do in July at 4 pm. UVA radiation is consistently damaging, and in fact, enters deeper into the skin than UVB. This is specifically why patients with light sensitivity require daily, year round complete protection.
