Flavor Sweet may be used alone or as an oral flavored syrup vehicle. Flavor Sweet may be diluted to desired taste or thickness with water or other aqueous vehicles. Flavor Sweet is also designed to complement the use of Flavor Plus Suspending Vehicle. It is flavored and buffered to be added to a pre-formed suspension and diluted in approximately 50-50 concentrations. Flavor Sweet is a convenient, flavored syrup based vehicle, formulated to assist the compounding pharmacist in the preparation of oral extemporaneous delivery systems. Flavor Sweet may be used alone or to flavor aqueous solutions, or in conjunction with suspending agents to impart flavor and sweetness while increasing the physical stability of the suspension. Flavor Sweet contains suitable preservatives and is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to provide a vehicle which is dependable, consistent, pharmaceutically elegant and easily utilized by the compounding pharmacist.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Aqueous Solutions: Wet the material with water or other miscible substance such as glycerin or sorbitol. Dissolve the material in minimal amounts of water, add Flavor Sweet and mix well. Aqueous Suspensions: Use in conjunction with Flavor Plus Suspending Vehicle or other suspending agents. It is critical to form the initial suspension with the suspending agent first, using Flavor Sweet to dilute to volume. If Flavor Plus is used as the suspending agent, an approximate equal proportion of each is optimal.

Do not crush tablets or capsules formulated for timed/sustained release. Flavor Sweet is formulated to a slightly acidic pH to enhance the stability of compounds subject to degradation at higher pH's. Basic, ionized drugs with low solubility in the unionized state may precipitate. If such compound is encountered or anticipated, a suspension might be considered for these compounds.
