Apply the tape as smoothly as possible as irregularities may lead to skin irritation. Do not apply tape too tightly as it will affect proper circulation. Do not apply tape to a swollen limb. Finger Taping: Insert a gauze pad between the two fingers you will be taping together. Wrap one strip of tape between the knuckle and the first joint, and another strip between the first and second joint. Ankle Taping: Step 1 - Wrap two strips of tape around lower calf. Place several strips from one side of tape around heel to other side of tape, overlapping as you proceed. Step 2 - Overlap additional strips of tape up the leg, overlapping as shown. Wrap additional strips around arch of foot. Step 3 - To provide even more support, apply tape behind the heel and around the arch in overlapping strips.
